The Sparrows Quilt Pattern (finishes at approximately 65.5in x 71in) is a block based pattern for the advanced beginner sewist and up. The pattern includes instruction for making a scrappy version of the quilt using fat quarters.

This is a Printed Paper Pattern. Recommended Skill Level: Confident Beginner

I love this pattern. I found the instructions well written for the most part. As is my usual habit with a new pattern that I might use as a 'class', I always make a test block with scrap fabric to check accuracy of the measurements given. This block is then added to other 'sample' blocks to be used in future charity quilts. I am always on the lookout for places that I can eliminate a seam that isn't necessary while maintaining the integrity of the original pattern. I did eliminate the seam between pieces Q and R in the Middle Section by making it a single piece added to the K/P HST. I then added the N piece. The only thing that I found frustrating, is that the fabric line used, is no longer available, even though this pattern is only a year old. Not the designers fault and is often the case with patterns.
I have since purchased several other patterns from this designer and look forward to future designs.

I absolutely love this pattern as I am crazy about birds.
But, I was disappointed with the instructions. I felt it needed more specific detailed instructions. I am an experienced seamstress/quilter so I will be able to figure it all out, but it will take me a while to really go through and be able to disect how to go about figuring out what I need to do.

Pretty Quilt! 05/03/2022

I made the top in about four days. The pattern was excellent and not at all confusing, although I’d suggest purchasing a bit more fabric than the directions say you need. I’d suggest offering this pattern in a larger print edition for those of us whose eyes aren’t what they used to be!

I love this pattern and can’t wait to get started on it! It’s for a friend going through cancer treatments. I will embroider on the label, “For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me”. Fast delivery - I will visit this shop again!!

Great pattern, super fast shipping. I am currently making it and it goes together beautifully. You just need to pay attention to left and right facing birdies
