Clover Flower Yo-Yo Maker FREE how-to YouTube Video
The video is ready! I experienced a LOT of frustration with the first flower yo-yos I made using the Clover Flower Quick Yo-Yo Makers.
The included instructions were not very intuitive or easy--I felt. Once I figured out how to make them look pretty Jeff and I put together a video showing how I make mine. My way is not necessarily the *right* way or even the *best* way...it's just the way I do it and I like my results. If you have a way that works better for you, please feel free to share your tips.
NOTE #1: YouTube limits video length to 10 minutes. That wasn't enough time to show all the steps, so there are two clips below (scroll down, they are listed one on top of the other).
NOTE #2: You will notice my watch shows the time at about 6:00 on these clips. That's 6:00AM...yes, in the morning. We started this set at about 5:45AM. We film very early to take advantage of the best quiet and least distraction. BUT, it's still 6:00AM...wincing grin...it's an interesting exercise in trying to engage brain and voice that early in the morning.
The tweezers I use in this video are Bohin Long Handle Tweezers, available at SewThankful. You can find the Clover Quick Yo-Yo Makers (in flower, heart and circle shapes) at SewThankful too.

What I do, no matter how I make a yo-yo, is to pull the thread to ruffle, tie it off and then slip the thread through an edge -- leaving a sufficient amount for whipping together another yo-yo.
It means each yo-yo has a tail ... but it's better (for me) to have the tail ready for use, instead of having to take another piece of thread, knot, and whip, and knot again.

Thanks so much for the great demonstration on flower yo yo makers. I had just purchased one from my local sewing center and was not sure how to do it correctly. Your demo made everything really clear. I like how you went slower and demonstrated step by step as the instructions that came w/the package are very unclear.
